Jut Patti

Lightning-fast South Asian matching game. Draw from the deck or discard to pair up every card in your hand and call Jut Patti to win.

How to play

2 to 4 players are dealt an odd number of cards (default 5 cards each).

On your turn, draw one card from either the face-down stock pile or the face-up discard pile.

Check your hand: if every card can be matched into pairs (Juts) of equal rank, declare Jut Patti to win the round!

If not ready to win, discard one card face-up onto the discard pile to end your turn.

First player to reach the target score (default 5 rounds) wins the game.

About Jut Patti

Jut Patti is a popular and fast-paced two to four player matching card game hailing from Nepal and India, played with a standard 52-card deck. Players are dealt an odd number of cards (typically five) and take turns drawing one card from the draw pile or discard pile, and subsequently discarding one card to keep an odd hand. The objective is to pair up all cards in hand into matching rank sets called Juts. As soon as a player draws a card that allows every card in their hand to form complete pairs, they immediately declare victory and score a point. The first player to reach the target score wins the match.

Tips for Jut Patti

  • Keep track of discarded ranks: avoid waiting for pairs on ranks that have already appeared frequently in the discard pile.
  • Drawing from the discard pile gives you a guaranteed pair, but pay attention to whether a face-up discard might alert opponents to your holding.
  • Prioritize holding ranks of which you already have matching counts, and discard lone ranks that lack potential partners.

Questions about Jut Patti

How many people can play Jut Patti?

Jut Patti is played by between 2 and 4 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Jut Patti against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Jut Patti online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
