Kitti

Beloved South Asian 9-card game. Divide your hand into 3 sets, contest 3 rounds with Teen Patti rankings, and win 2 rounds to take the deal.

How to play

2 to 5 players receive 9 cards each, partitioned into 3 sets of 3 cards in descending strength.

Hand rankings follow Teen Patti: Trio (Trial) > Straight Flush (Colour Run) > Straight (Run) > Flush (Colour) > Pair > High Card.

Players reveal one set per round across 3 rounds. The player who won the previous round leads the next.

Win 2 or more rounds to claim the deal (1 point, or 2 points for sweeping all 3).

If 3 different players win 1 round each, the deal is a Tie (Kitti) and no points are awarded. First to target points wins.

About Kitti

Kitti (also known as Kitty or 9 Patti) is a fast, strategic South Asian card game for two to five players played with a standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt nine cards and must divide them into three distinct three-card hands arranged in strict descending strength from first to third. Ranking follows Teen Patti hand order: Trio (three-of-a-kind), Pure Sequence (straight flush), Sequence (straight), Colour (flush), Pair, and High Card. Players reveal their hands packet-by-packet across three consecutive showdown rounds. Winning at least two rounds wins the hand, while three different round winners triggers a Kitti tie where the stakes roll over to the next deal.

Tips for Kitti

  • Ensure your hand ordering is strictly valid: packet one must beat or equal packet two, which must beat or equal packet three, otherwise your hand is fouled.
  • Balance your three hands wisely: aiming to win two out of three rounds guarantees victory, so do not overload your top hand at the expense of your middle hand.
  • Look for sequences and colour runs first, as they rank higher than flushes and pairs and often secure vital round wins.

Questions about Kitti

How many people can play Kitti?

Kitti is played by between 2 and 5 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Kitti against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Kitti online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
