Sevens

Play a 7 or an adjacent rank card to build out four central suit rows. Empty your hand first to win.

How to play

All 52 cards are dealt among the players. The player holding the 7 of Diamonds starts by playing it.

On your turn, you must play any 7, or a card one rank higher or lower than the existing cards in an open suit.

Suits build down to Ace (6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A) and up to King (8, 9, 10, J, Q, K).

Playing a legal card is compulsory. If you hold no legal play, you must pass.

The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game.

About Sevens

Sevens, also known as Parliament, Fan Tan, or Dominos, is a classic card shedding game for three to six players using a standard 52-card deck. All 52 cards are dealt out among players, and the player holding the 7 of Diamonds starts by playing it to the table. Central rows branch out for each of the four suits: a suit row can only be started with its 7, and is built outward down to Ace (6, 5, 4, 3, 2, A) and up to King (8, 9, 10, J, Q, K). Playing is compulsory whenever legal; if no play is possible, you must pass. The first player to play all cards wins.

Tips for Sevens

  • Hold back 7s if you hold few cards in that suit to stall opponents and force them into passing.
  • Play cards that expand suits where you hold extensive sequences, guaranteeing yourself continuous future plays.
  • Terminal cards (Aces and Kings) are safe to play since they do not open up any further plays for opponents.

Questions about Sevens

How many people can play Sevens?

Sevens is played by between 3 and 6 players. Real players and bots can share a table, so a game can always start even if you do not have enough people.

Can I play Sevens against the computer?

Yes. Pick easy, medium or hard bots and start straight away. Bots only use what a player in their seat could see, so they cannot peek at your cards.

Can I play Sevens online with friends?

Yes. Create a private room and share its code, or join a quick match. If someone drops out mid-game, a bot takes over their seat.
